De overstromingen in het Amazonegebied zijn blijkbaar nog niet voorbij.
Het water is op dit moment de hoofdstad Manus aan het binnenstromen en volgens de monitoring gaat de Rio Negro nog een tijd stijgen.

Een blinde vlek in de media

Buiten wat economisch bier-nieuws is Brazilië een blinde vlek in onze media.
Na wat stortregens in Vlaanderen misschien het moment om te melden dat in onze geliefde Nordeste regio de hulpacties volop draaien om de 600.000 mensen te helpen die daar door de regens en overstromingen getroffen werden. In verschillende staten, Pernambuco, Paraíba, Rio Grande do Norte, Maranhão, Ceará en Piauí zijn de mensen hun huizen, landbouwgrond en vee kwijt. Overal zijn er doden.
Het regent er al sinds eind april en men hoopt dat het eind deze week wat zouden verminderen.
