'Vídeo nas Aldeias' heeft in zijn archief meer dan 3.000 uren video over 40 verschillende Braziliaanse Indianen volkeren. Van de 70 afgewerkte videos is ongeveer de helft door de indianen zelf gemaakt. Alles is in de originele taal van het volk en ondertiteld in het Portugees. De meeste videos bestaan ook met ondertitels in het Engels en het Spaans, sommige zijn ook ondertiteld in het Frans en het Italiaans.

Vídeo nas Aldeias construiu ao longo de sua trajetória um acervo de mais de 3.000 horas de imagens de 40 povos indígenas brasileiros e produziu uma coleção de mais de 70 vídeos, dentre os quais aproximadamente a metade é de autoria indígena. Falados em suas línguas originais, todos têm versão em português, e a maioria deles em inglês e em espanhol. Alguns já têm legendas em francês e em italiano.

Eu sei, este blog deve ser sobre o Brasil.
Então, o que tem a ver o Mangue Belga com a Palestina?
Muita coisa, se você me perguntar, mas a essência para mim é que, no meus oficinas de vídeo com brasileiros, marroquinos ou palestinianos encontrou jovens normais, não diferentes dos meus próprios filhos e seus amigos.
Mas, jovens que vivem numa favela ou em um acampamento de refugiados na Palestina têm de lidar com problemas que são difíceis de imaginar aqui.
Ajudá-los a comunicar com vídeo é minha felicidade.

So, what has Palestine to do with the Mangue Belga?
A lot, if you ask me, but the essence for me is that in my video workshops with Brazilian, Moroccan or Palestinian youngsters I met normal young guys and girls, not different from my own kids and their friends.
But, living in a Brazilian favela or in a Palestinian refugee camp they have to deal with problems hard to imagine in our cosy world.
Helping them to communicate with video keeps me going.
I will post the video's on my Youtube account.
